Delivering impact is a challenge but the ESPA Directorate is here to help

August 4, 2011

Andy Frost, ESPA Research Into Use Task Leader

The ESPA Directorate will work alongside project teams to advise and indeed assist in ensuring that research undertaken does achieve maximum impact by being understood and used in an effective manner.

As such, the ESPA Directorate has an Impact team available to projects. The team will be covering aspects of communication and getting research into use, which builds upon past experiences to ensure missed opportunities and/or lessons from the past are learnt.

The Directorate sees this interaction very much as a partnership to add value to the ESPA research. The partnerships will work towards ensuring the foundations for impact, based upon excellent research, are established from the start.

ESPA is not alone in getting to grips with the issue of communicating, getting research into use and ensuring maximum impact.

To highlight this, we thought it would be useful to link you to a film based on an experience from the CGIAR which is most pertinent, particularly now as we are about to see the start of the ESPA Consortium Projects.
