ESPA Appoints New Director

Dr Kate Schreckenberg joins ESPA as its new Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Kate Schreckenberg as the ESPA Director with effect from late Feb/Early March.  Dr Schreckenberg is no stranger to the ESPA Programme having been involved with the programme for seven years.

Dr Schreckenberg will be providing the ESPA Directorate Team with the high level strategic direction needed to take the ESPA programme, in its current format, to its successful conclusion in March 2018.  Dr Schreckenberg’ s focus will be managing the ESPA Legacy, leading and co-ordinating the ESPA Synthesis work, and reporting the ESPA Impact.

On being appointed, Dr Schreckenberg said: “I am very pleased to be taking over as Director of the ESPA Programme. As a grantee of the Programme since 2010, I have first-hand experience of both the excitement and the challenges (intellectual and practical) of undertaking ESPA-type research. I very much look forward to working with the ESPA community to complete ongoing projects, synthesise the programme’s findings, explore ways to integrate ESPA’s key messages into future research and development funding, and generally celebrate ESPA’s achievements”.

The Programme Executive Board are also delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Dame Georgina Mace. Professor Mace will be providing advice on academic and strategic impacts of the programme.
