Staff changes - Statement from ESPA Programme Funders
DFID, NERC and ESRC, as funders of the Ecosystem Services for Poverty Alleviation (ESPA) programme would like to express their thanks to Professor Paul van Gardingen for his dedication to and scientific leadership of ESPA since before its inception, to this current time. Professor van Gardingen has now resigned from his post as Director of ESPA and from Edinburgh University, and we would like to take this opportunity to wish him well in his future direction and activities.
The diverse projects within the ESPA programme continue to deliver excellent and ground breaking science and associated impacts, and we look forward to seeing these continue as the programme progresses. The funders are in close discussion with Edinburgh and the ESPA Directorate, and are pleased with the progress the Directorate is making in developing the strategy as the programme moves into its vital synthesis and legacy phase.
The projects and Directorate have built strong relationships with the in-country science and development communities, and we look forward to seeing these continue and prosper.
From: Craig Bardsley, ESRC, Andrew Clayton, DFID and Simon Kerley, NERC, members of the ESPA Programme Executive Board
